What’s better than a shop on Bold Street full of records? … A BIGGER shop on Bold Street full of records!
Liverpool has been great to us and we are expanding! We will be doubling in size at our current location in Soho’s Basement (80 Bold Street) and also doubling the amount of vinyl stock. We will be closing for necessary expansion work for two days, 19-20 October (Sunday and Monday) and reopening on Tuesday 21 October bigger and better!
To celebrate the expansion, we are planning a Grand Reopening event on the following Saturday (25 October) featuring guest DJ Chris Ward from Mirror Moves (https://www.facebook.com/mirrormovesclub) and our very own Dig DJs. We will be running various competitions throughout the event and all over social media for gift vouchers, records, a vintage record player and other goodies!
We are hoping to make the expanded shop a more inviting and cool place – a destination for music lovers to unite and hang out. Based on feedback from our customers, we think that part of what has made us so successful in our short life is the manner with which we interact with our customers – we try to create an environment in the shop where people feel welcome and comfortable to browse, ask questions, or seek out new music recommendations. We want people to choose coming into our shop and have that genuine human interaction and experience rather than doing all their music shopping from behind a computer screen.
To promote all of this, our expanded shop will include a new, bigger listening area with 2 listening posts and a seating area to encourage diggers to try out new music before they buy it (one of the advantages of being a secondhand shop – the records are already unsealed and have been played!). We will also have coffee & tea from the trendy and tasty Tim Peaks (http://www.timpeaks.co.uk) by Tim Burgess and Yorkshire Tea available for sale for our customers who like to hang out and spend a bit more time savouring the record digging experience (and to keep our busy staff awake and fuel our own caffeine addiction but that’s another story).
Obviously the most exciting part about the expansion is that we are doubling the amount of records available to our customers across all genres. We hope that Liverpool is as excited about this expansion as we are and of course we couldn’t have come this far without all of the support from our loyal customers and the local community that continues to support independent shops such as ourselves! Hope to see you all at the Grand Reopening Saturday 25 October!
